Jack White playing small venues on secretive pop-up tour

The rocker will give little lead time before announcing the dates

Jack White never does anything conventionally. His latest album, No Name, was offered for free at his Third Man Record store in Detroit. Equally under-the-radar, White announced on Instagram two weeks ago that he’ll be touring small clubs–with virtually no lead time for fans to buy tickets–on the No Name Tour.

“A little over two weeks ago, Jack White and his band began what can only be described as an outright thrilling stretch of shows,” a post reads. “From Nashville and Georgia to South Korea and Detroit, the shows feature the first-ever live performances of songs from White’s critically acclaimed No Name album. Stay tuned for Third Man Third Thursday monthly Jack White live drops as the No Name Tour continues to wind its way across the globe.”

The White Stripes frontman followed that pattern with his latest concerts. He announced two shows at Washington, DC’s storied 930 Club late last week. Tickets went on sale before the weekend. The shows are Monday and Tuesday of this coming week; August 26th and 27th, respectively which are sold out. However, he did give fans just a bit more notice than the first club show, which happened the day after its announcement.

This tour gives fans an unusually intimate opportunity to catch Jack White and celebrate his music. There’s no telling where he’ll pop up next. Fans should pay close attention to social media to score tickets if and when White takes over a club near them.
