Jack White is set to record the fastest studio to store single in history on Saturday, April 19th during Record Store Day known as the “World’s Fastest Released Record.”
White will take the stage at his Third Man’s Blue Room Nashville store front at 10 am on April 19th and record direct-to-acetate a live version of his next single, “Lazaretto,” from his upcoming second solo CD of the same name. The masters will be rushed over to United Record Pressing who will immediately begin pressing 45s of the track. The sleeves will be printed from pictures taken at the show, and then the finished records will be whisked back to Third Man to sell to awaiting fans by 4 pm. United will press and deliver the single to Third Man as long as there are fans waiting in line to purchase them, no matter how long it takes.
Fans who want guaranteed admission to participate in Third Man’s RSD festivities which will also feature a likely final Third Man performance by Whirlwind Heat at 2 pm, can purchase Ultra Tickets through the Third Man Records Vault to Platinum Members. These Ultra Tickets are extremely limited and ticket holders will get to watch White’s live recording session, Whirlwind Heat’s afternoon performance, and will receive a bag with copies of both White’s The World Fastest Record 7″ and the Whirlwind Heat Record Store Day exclusive LP release, Do Rabbits Wonder? on a variety of colored vinyl, all without having to wait in line!
Ultra Tickets for Record Store Day will be available via The Vault Pre-Sale ticket store at 3 pm CT Thursday, April 3rd. Fans who aren’t a member can sign up to get tickets and will also receive Vault Package #20 featuring a special limited edition of White’s upcoming Lazaretto album set for release on June 10th.
For those who don’t get tickets, The World’s Fastest Record will be made available for sale from the front of Third Man Records as soon as copies are pressed for fans who show up during business hours wanting one on April 19th only! This limited edition special single will only be available at Third Man Records on Record Store Day one time only! Limited one per customer, but Third Man guarantees that all fans waiting in line for one will get one no matter how long it takes.
Other vendors and events are scheduled to take place.
