New track available now

Jameson Rodgers is ready to withstand destruction on his new release, “Built for Heartbreak,” available now via Sony Music Nashville.

“When I’m trying to decide which songs to record, I typically base it off of how many times I play it in my truck. This song survived that test and I’m so happy it did,” Rodgers shares. “‘Built For Heartbreak’ makes you FEEL the emotions of the lyrics. It takes you down the path of someone flirting with rock bottom and makes you feel like you’re right there with them. Whether you’re in that or not, anyone can relate to being in a similar season of life. As a songwriter, this is one that I wish I would’ve written.”

Written by John Byron, Chris La Corte, and Hillary Lindsey, “Built for Heartbreak” is a rare outside cut from the multi-AIMP Award nominee. Rodgers’ gritty growl underscores the pleading lyrics: “I’m already a disaster / Yeah, I’m too far for savin’ now.” With forlorn production, the track is another shining example of Rodgers’ Heartbreak Kid mentality.

To celebrate the new track, Rodgers will host a Songs Built for Heartbreak writers round Thursday, May 4th at the Listening Room Café in Nashville with special guests Dylan Marlowe, Brent Anderson, and Hunter Phelps. Currently opening for Hardy on The Mockingbird & The Crow Tour, Rodgers will hit the stage at summer festivals such as CMA Fest and join Billy Currington and Jordan Davis for select dates.
