“You Make It Easy” is the First RIAA Platinum Certified Country Single Released in 2018

Just a few weeks ahead of the 20th anniversary of Jason Aldean’s move to Nashville, the now three-time and reigning ACM “Entertainer Of The Year” brought together friends and family last week to celebrate his 20th career No. 1 single “You Make It Easy” on the skyline level of Jason Aldean’s Kitchen + Rooftop Bar. With the help of BMI and ASCAP, the momentum continued behind his No. 1 selling eighth studio album Rearview Town (Broken Bow Records), with songwriters Florida Georgia Line’s Brian Kelley (BMI) and Tyler Hubbard (BMI), Morgan Wallen (BMI) and Jordan Schmidt (ASCAP) who joined Aldean overlooking Nashville’s historic Broadway. While celebrating the record’s multi-week No. 1 lead single, Aldean was surprised with news from the RIAA as “You Make It Easy” is the first country song to go platinum in 2018. He was also awarded with gold certification for Rearview Town, making it the first country album released this year to reach the mark.

Aldean is only the second country act in history to score four consecutive chart-toppers on the all-genre Billboard 200 albums chart with his current album Rearview Town, with six of his previous LPs having achieved platinum certification or better. The path paved by his wide-open sure-footed approach has defined the genre’s 21st century including more than 15 million total album sales and countless recognition from the GRAMMYs, ACMs, CMAs, BBMAs, People’s Choice Awards and more. He is a perennial live-show favorite for the format as he has headlined the biggest stadiums in the United States, continuing with his High Noon Neon Tour — which we reviewed from Saturday’s Madison Square Garden concert — before returning to Nashville on Tuesday to perform at the Grand Ole Opry.
