Aldean was a passenger on the bus at time of incident
A tour bus carrying country superstar Jason Aldean struck and killed a pedestrian in Knox County, IN early Monday morning (Oct 27th). ABC News confirms the police report indicates that at approximately 1:28 am ET, Albert Kennedy of Vincennes, IN “walked out into the middle of the roadway” and was struck by Aldean’s bus on the northbound lane of US 41 North.
Knox County Sheriff Michel Morris confirms that Aldean was a passenger on the bus at the time of incident. The police report also indicates that the coroner declared the victim dead at the scene from what is described as “trauma to the head and chest.”
Aldean took to his Facebook page on Monday to send his condolences to the victim and his family.
“With a heavy heart, I’m sad to say that a man passed away last night after stepping out in front of my bus in Indiana. In all the years I’ve been touring and all the miles we’ve driven, nothing prepares you for something like this to happen. I’m praying for Albert Kennedy’s family and friends today and ask that you do the same.”
No word on why Aldean’s bus was in IN as the singer’s tour has wrapped until January. The singer raised over $575 thousand on Friday at his eighth annual “Concert for the Cure” in New Orleans, LA and had to cancel a concert in Dallas on Saturday due to inclement weather.
An investigation is currently underway as to why Kennedy was on the road and what exactly happened.
