Jazmine Sullivan, HER duet certified Platinum

Song is featured on debut album

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has revealed Jazmine Sullivan’s duet with H.E.R., “Girl Like Me,” has been certified Platinum. The previously certified Gold duet is from the Grammy Award-winning album Heaux Tales. In addition to her RIAA-certified Platinum single, “Pick Up Your Feelings,” “On It” featuring Ari Lennox, is also RIAA-certified Gold.

The R&B powerhouse can be caught out on the road this summer performing at DC’s Broccoli City from July 15-16. She’ll be swinging through Atlanta for its annual Funk Fest on Friday, August 18th; as well as, she’ll be live at Afropunk Brooklyn: Circus of Soul on August 26-27. Sullivan will also headline the first night of H.E.R.’s “Lights On Festival” on Saturday, September 16th. Now in its third iteration, the festival will be held at the grounds of the iconic Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, CA.

Jazmine Sullivan released her debut album Fearless in 2008, a No. 1 album on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart that garnered seven Grammy Awards nominations including Best R&B Album and Best New Artist. From her first single “Need U Bad,” Sullivan demonstrated an innate ability to write songs that perfectly capture the stories of so many women, especially black women. Sullivan possesses a lyrical vulnerability that makes you think she has been reading your journal. This talent led her to cultivate a substantial secondary discography as a songwriter and featured vocalist as well.
