New project is first in eight years

Jennifer Lopez has revealed her ninth studio album, This Is Me…Now will be released in 2023. No exact release date was given, but the news drops on the 20th anniversary of her This Is Me…Then album, released in 2002.

Heralding a new era of music for Jennifer Lopez, This Is Me … Now chronicles the emotional, spiritual and psychological journey that she has taken over the past two decades. This album is a philosophy, a reflection, a zeitgeist moment. It’s about hope, faith and true love never dying.

“We captured me at this moment in time,” she shares in a teaser announcing the project. “If you have, like me at times, lost hope, almost given up, don’t. And that’s real. And I want to put that message out to the world.”

Lopez unveiled the 13 track album track listing with a social media video, two days after her accounts went dark. At least two songs are inspired by her recent marriage to Ben Affleck — “Midnight Trip to Vegas” and “Dear Ben, Pt. II,” which is an apparent sequel to the 2002 track “Dear Ben.”

The project will be Lopez’s first full album of new music in eight years. She released AKA in 2014 and new tracks from her film, Marry Me, earlier this year. In 2020, she released two singles with Maluma and the explosinve solo single, “In The Morning,” that dropped on Black Friday.

Projects timed to the album’s release are forthcoming.
