The group is celebrating 50 years in 2018

Jimmy Page is celebrating Led Zeppelin’s 50th anniversary in 2018 by releasing unheard music. In a 50 minute interview with the Academy of Achievement from October, Page says new music will be coming in 2018.

“There’ll be Led Zeppelin product coming out, for sure, that people haven’t heard because I’m working on that,” Page states. “Next year will be the fiftieth year so there’s all manner of surprises coming out.”

Led Zep News reports that the band’s label, Warner Music Group (WMG), is prepping “a series of high-profile events” for the group’s 50th anniversary in 2018. In September, Tim Fraser-Harding, President, Global Catalogue, Recorded Music, submitted a letter to support a proposed statue of drummer John Bonham in his hometown of Redditch, England stating the label plans which include an “extensive outreach to media and fans worldwide” for celebration. The proposed statue of Bonham in is planned to be installed for what would have been Bonham’s 70th birthday on May 31, 2018, with Fraser-Harding wanting the event to be apart of the group’s milestone celebration.

No other details as to what is being planned or when the new music will drop in 2018, but Page reissued each of the band’s nine studio albums in 2014-2015 featuring bonus discs of unreleased music.
