Perry’s solo tour was set to launch on November 30th

Joe Perry has canceled all upcoming tour dates through the end of the year following his hospitalization last week. The Aerosmith guitarist was rushed the the hospital after a guest performance with Billy Joel in New York last week when he collapsed backstage afterward.

“While doctors have released Perry from care, with the dates set to begin Nov. 30 and going through Dec. 16, the Aerosmith guitarist will now take the rest of the year off,” Perry’s reps say in a statement. “Perry again would like to apologize to the fans who were planning on coming to the shows and looks forward to seeing them again in 2019. Refunds are available at point of purchase.”

Perry took to social media to express his apologies for the cancellation.

“Just wanted to thank everyone for all of the kind messages I’ve received this week,” Perry shares. “I’m home and doing well, but the doctor recommends a bit more downtime before getting out to rock again. So regrettably I had to cancel my upcoming tour dates. Was really looking forward to playing these shows with Brad and Gary and seeing all of you who were planning to come out and support us. We will be back out as soon as possible. Wishing you all happy holidays and looking forward to seeing you in 2019.”

No reason was given for his latest hospitalization, but Perry previously collapsed backstage during a Hollywood Vampires concert in 2016 that was attributed to dehydration and exhaustion.

Perry just wrapped a European tour with Hollywood Vampires. Earlier this year, Perry released his solo record, Sweetzerland Manifesto, featuring Hollywood Vampires bandmate Johnny Depp on drums on one track.

Next spring, Aerosmith will launch the Aerosmith: Deuces Are Wild residency at the Park Theater at Park MGM in Las Vegas. Eighteen performances run from April through July with one of the most immersive, state-of-the art audio and video technology experiences in Las Vegas.
