Joey McIntyre announces ‘Own This Town’

New solo song available now

Acclaimed singer/songwriter Joey McIntyre announces solo song, “Own This Town,” to be released October 23 via distribution partner Stem. Co-written by the multiplatinum artist and fellow songwriters Lindy Robbins (Jason Derulo, Demi Lovato, Dua Lipa) and Emanuel Kiriakou who also produced the track (Jason Derulo, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez), the infectious, upbeat anthem serves as a reprieve from the heavy news cycle.

“I wrote this song years ago, with a totally different intention. To me it’s about taking your shot, swinging for the fences, going for it. And I think it really takes on a new meaning now,” says McIntyre. “The idea of never giving up, reflecting on where you are, what you’ve done, what’s left to do… it’s hopeful. I think the words resonate more now and I hope people can find some inspiration when they hear it.”

Best known as the youngest member of New Kids on the Block, Joey McIntyre has also enjoyed success as a solo artist, starting with his debut album Stay the Same which was certified gold and also delivered a top ten single, penned by McIntyre himself.

He has worked extensively as an actor in film and TV and has a long history in the theatre- including his Broadway debut in Wicked and most recently in Broadway’s Waitress.

Through it all, McIntyre has bore a passion to write and record music. Since their reunion in 2008, the New Kids on the Block have released three Top Ten albums on the Billboard 200. On those albums, McIntyre has co-written more than half a dozen songs including “Still Sounds Good,” “One Night of Peace” and the Blockhead anthem “Block Party.”
