No. 1 hit songwriter sets Grand Ole Opry debut
Multi-No. 1 hit songwriter John Morgan unleashes his rugged country boy roots in unapologetic new heater “Sorry Not Sorry.” The song was produced by country music superstar and Morgan’s mentor Jason Aldean, along with his long-time bandmates and No. 1 hit songwriters Kurt Allison and Tully Kennedy. Morgan wrote “Sorry Not Sorry” with Justin Wilson, Rodney Clawson, and Will Bundy, and just set his Grand Ole Opry debut for Friday, May 19th.
John Morgan’s redneck tendencies blast through each twang-soaked, back-road lyric. Fueled by an insanely catchy foot-tapping beat and electric standout guitar riffs, the rising star gives a lesson in how hard-working country boys remain loyal to their roots.
The North Carolina native is fueling that fire by becoming an even more prolific songwriter – churning out hit songs write after write, earning a cut on Jon Pardi’s latest album with “Hung The Moon” as well as eight cuts on Aldean’s latest double album Macon, Georgia along with two back-to-back No. 1s – “Trouble With A Heartbreak” and the Grammy and CMA-nominated “If I Didn’t Love You” featuring Carrie Underwood that won ACM Awards Single of the Year, CMT Awards Video of the Year and iHeartRadio Awards Country Song of the Year.
