Song also features The Oak Ridge Boys

John Rich and Mike Rowe’s “Santa’s Gotta Dirty Job” has landed at No. 1 on all iTunes’ All Genre chart following a performance on Fox & Friends this morning (Tues, Nov 30th). The song and video also includes guest vocals by The Oak Ridge Boys. The song is available digitally with all proceeds benefiting Folds of Honor and Mike Rowe Works Foundation.

“You guys are AWESOME! We did it! #SantasGottaDirtyJob is 1 ALL GENRES! All proceeds to ⁦@FoldsofHonor⁩ and #MikeRoweWorksFoundation,” Rich tweets.

Rich and Rowe both have shows on FOX Business Network, with Rich hosting The Pursuit! with John Rich and Rowe as the narrator and executive producer of How America Works.

“I was interviewing Mike Rowe for my show The Pursuit! on FOX Business. He was my guest. And I said, Mike, you know somebody that’s got a dirty job you probably never considered? He said, who’s that? I said, Santa Claus. He goes, you’re right. I said, we should do a Christmas song because people don’t know that Mike Rowe is actually a really great singer. Yeah, we should come up with something. I went to change clothes, I said, Mike, I think I wrote the chorus. Santa Claus, got a dirty job,” Rich shares.

“Years ago I faked myself into the Baltimore opera, and I wound up staying there for eight seasons. It was just a way for me into show business that turned out to be a lot more fun than I thought it would,” Rowe adds. “My recollection of this song is slightly different. I don’t remember changing clothes. I remember John went into the bathroom and came out with his cell phone, and he had recorded the chorus. What else was going on in that bathroom, I don’t want to know. I just know that John rich has a dirty job as well.”

This is Rich’s second music collaboration following the 2019 hit “Shut Up About Politics” he recorded with FNC’s The Five. The song, which also raised money for charity, topped the charts immediately following its debut
