Jon Pardi releases live Joe Diffie cover video

Track appears on Rancho Fiesta Sessions

Jon Pardi is honoring a true country legend in his latest video. Pardi pays tribute to Joe Diffie — who died from complications of COVID-19 at the age of 61 in late March — in a new live video for his cover of “Prop Me Up Beside The Jukebox (If I Die).” The clip features Pardi and his band performing in his garage at his ranch outside of Nashville.

The song is one of eight covers on his recently released Rancho Fiesta Sessions that he surprised dropped on his fans in August via Capitol Nashville. The EP also includes covers of Merle Haggard, Dwight Yoakam, George Strait, Keith Whitley, Tom Petty and Prince. Produced by Pardi, the project was recorded live during a one-night live jam session with his touring band from his home base in Nashville.

Pardi is currently closing in on the top of the country charts with his latest single, “Ain’t Always the Cowboy” from his Heartache Medication album in which he earned him his fourth No. 1 at country radio with the title track. The album debuted among the top albums on Billboard’s Country Albums chart upon its release. A deluxe edition of Heartache Medication was released earlier this fall.

Pardi recently teamed with CMT for an eight episode digital-variety series entitled Pardi Time. Shot, directed, and hosted by Jon Pardi (with help from CMT), Pardi Time is all things, and all sides, Jon Pardi.
