Jonas Family bringing personal history to destination dining on The Strip

The Jonas Family’s new home is coming to Las Vegas, as Nellie’s Southern Kitchen is set to open at MGM Grand this June. Helmed by Denise and Kevin Jonas, Sr., their sons Kevin II, Joe and Nick — the Jonas Brothers — and Franklin – in partnership with TLI Bedrock LLC – Nellie’s will welcome guests to a seat at the Jonas family table with live music, generous hospitality and timeless Southern comfort food.

Nellie’s Southern Kitchen is the second outpost of the tremendously successful original Nellie’s Southern Kitchen in Belmont, North Carolina. The restaurant is a celebration of Kevin, Sr.’s grandmother, Nellie, who lived in Belmont working the cotton mills by day so she could cook a delicious meal for her loved ones by night. Nellie combined music and food into nightly rituals around the table, which forged the tight-knit traditions that the Jonas family continues to this day.

Upon opening in The District opposite the MGM Grand Garden Arena, Nellie’s Southern Kitchen will blend Las Vegas’ dining and entertainment experiences into a single destination reminiscent of Grandma Nellie’s family table.

“This June will mark the beginning of our bringing to the Strip a celebration of the food and hospitality from my hometown combined with a few surprises we have in store for Las Vegas,” states Kevin, Sr. “It is a surreal moment for our family to have Grandma Nellie’s name in lights at the iconic MGM Grand. We cannot wait to share with Las Vegas visitors and locals alike the same joyous times we had around the dinner table.”

Nellie’s Southern Kitchen recently tapped Chef Mario Nichols from its Belmont location to lead the kitchen and steward the generational recipes passed down from Nellie – including Chicken & Dumplins, Hawg Hill Pecan-Smoked Pulled Pork Sandwich and Southern Meat Loaf – in addition to bringing his unique vision and history with Southern cuisine to the table.

The folkloric aesthetic of Nellie’s Southern Kitchen, designed by OLY Studio’s Kate McIntyre, will transport visitors into Kevin, Sr.’s upbringing in Belmont. The charm of small-town North Carolina is recreated through the weathered barnwood, white shiplap cottage walls, and the unique handmade furnishings and artwork inspired by the beautiful Smoky Mountains.

No stranger to the Las Vegas entertainment scene, the Jonas family has held ties to the city and MGM Resorts International over the years, including the upcoming five-night residency Jonas Brothers: Live in Las Vegas at Dolby Live at Park MGM showing June 3rd, 4th, 9th, 10th and 11th.

Additional details on the menu, interior design and programming at Nellie’s Southern Kitchen will be released in the coming weeks.
