Journey announces Lollapalooza concert release

Set will be available Dec 9th

Journey is set to release its 2021 Lollapalooza performance on December 9th via Frontiers Music Srl. Live in Concert at Lollapalooza will be released as a 2 CD/DVD set, 3 LP on green and standard black vinyl and Blu-ray. The set serves as a testament not only to the band’s enduring legacy, but their relevance to a whole new generation of rock ‘n roll fans.

The performance contains 20 live cuts captured on July 31, 2021 in Chicago. Hits include “Separate Ways (Worlds Apart),” “Wheel In the Sky,” “Open Arms,” “Any Way You Want It,” and “Don’t Stop Believin’,” among others.

The band will embark on the 50th Anniversary Celebration Freedom Tour in 2023 featuring very special guest Toto on all dates. Journey, the Diamond-selling Rock & Roll Hall of Famers, will take the stage in 38 cities across North America with their catalog of global chart-topping hits in support of its latest album, Freedom.

Upon its release in July, Freedom debuted at No. 1 on the Current Rock chart. The group’s 15 track album also premiered at No. 2 Current Digital Album, No. 2 Digital Albums, No. 3 Current Album Sales, No. 3 Album Sales, No. 3 Internet Albums and No. 88 on the Billboard 200.

As the band’s legend continues to grow larger and their touring gets bigger, Freedom is the band’s first album of new material to be released in 11 years, since 2011’s Eclipse. The group emerged from the pandemic with a supercharged new studio line-up that includes guitarist Schon, keyboardist Jonathan Cain, vocalist Arnel Pineda, former American Idol judge Randy Jackson returning as bassist after 30 years, Narada Michael Walden as drummer and keyboardist/vocalist Jason Derlatka.
