Band will announce rescheduled dates soon

Journey has postponed the remaining four Freedom Tour dates due to a member of the band testing positive for COVID-19. The iconic group shared that tonight’s (Tues, May 10th) in Washington DC; tomorrow in Hartford, CT; Friday, May 13th in Toronto and Monday, May 16th in Quebec are affected.

“The last four remaining shows of Journey’s tour are unfortunately postponed due to a band member testing positive for COVID,” the group shares on Facebook. “The shows will be rescheduled for a later date, more information will be provided on the band websites shortly. Please hold on to your tickets at this time.”

The group is touring with Toto in support of its forthcoming Freedom album. Toto’s Steve Lukather shared that their run with Journey is complete.

“Unfortunately one of our friends in Journey tested positive for COVID this morning so our appearances in DC and Hartford have been cancelled,” he writes. “It has been an incredible experience to stage the 38 shows we’ve performed with Journey across the US. Nothing short of a total blast. We offer deep gratitude to the band, crew, venue operators and AEG. Thank you all for coming out, supporting Toto and Journey, and sharing in one great night after the next. We’ll make this up to all of our fans in VA, DC, MD and CT when we return to the road in North America next year. Tilburg, NL coming up on July 11!”

Both bands are set to hit the road again separately this summer. Journey will trek through North America again in July while Toto heads for Europe starting July 11th.

Emerging from the pandemic with a supercharged new studio line-up, the members of Journey unleashed the first single “You Got The Best Of Me” last month. Freedom will be the first album of new material to be released in 11 years, since 2011’s Eclipse, and in addition to longtime keyboard player and primary lyricist Jonathan Cain and vocalist Arnel Pineda, one more member was recruited for the upcoming album — bassist extraordinaire Randy Jackson, who had played on Journey’s 1986 album Raised on Radio.

Journey and AEG have announced four exclusive Las Vegas show dates featuring special symphony orchestra performances at the new, state-of-the-art Resorts World Theatre. The shows are July 15th, 16th, 22nd and 23rd. Tickets for the special engagement are on sale now via Journey’s website.
