Further details are expected
Judas Priest will celebrate 35 years of Painkiller extensively live with The Shield of Pain Tour 2025. Details are scarce, but the band will perform a rare unique set that includes beloved classics to defend the metal faith in a truly memorable experience throughout Europe next summer.
Tour dates have not been revealed as of press time, but are expected soon.
The English heavy metal band released Painkiller in 1990. It was the last Judas Priest album to feature long-time singer Rob Halford before he returned in 2005.
The project was released six months after it was completed due to a much-publicized civil trial that accused the band of being responsible for an 18 and 20-year-old who shot themselves due to subliminal messages in the group’s 1978 album Stained Class. The pair allegedly were playing the project when they committed suicide in December 1985 after the band had embedded messages such as “try suicide,” “do it,” and “let’s be dead” in the band’s 1969 cover of “Better Than You, Better Than Me,” by Spooky Tooth.
The group recently wrapped its Invincible Shield Fall 2024 Tour with special guest Sabaton. All shows will feature music from their highly-anticipated album Invincible Shield.
