Justin Bieber arrested in FL for driving incident

Pop star Justin Bieber’s antics have finally caught up with him and got him in trouble with the law as he was arrested after being caught drag racing early this (Thurs) morning.

Bieber was arrested around 4:30 am ET on Thursday (Jan 23rd) after police in Miami Beach, FL found the 19 year old drag racing a rented yellow Lamborghini against a red Ferrari, driven by Def Jam recording artist, rapper Khalil Amir Sharieff, in a residential area of Miami Beach. CNN reports the cars were speeding about 55 to 60 mph in a 30 mph zone and that his entourage had used SUVs as a roadblock to race.

Miami Beach Police Chief Raymond Martinez told reporters Thursday that Bieber was booked into a Miami jail after failing a sobriety test. He was charged with drunken driving, resisting arrest without violence and driving on an expired license.

Martinez also told reporters that Bieber “made some statements that he had consumed some alcohol, and that he had been smoking marijuana and consumed some prescription medication and that Bieber was “not cooperating with the officer’s instructions.”

Martinez continues, “At first, he was a little belligerent, using some choice words questioning why he was being stopped and why the officer was even questioning him.”

“I ain’t got no fucking weapons! Why do you have to search me? What the fuck is this about?”

The report, obtained by TMZ, states that he allegedly ignored a police officer’s request to keep his hands on the car while he did “a cursory patdown for weapons.”

The officer quoted Bieber as saying, “I ain’t got no fucking weapons! Why do you have to search me? What the fuck is this about?”

Bieber appeared before a Miami-Dade County judge at 1 pm ET Thursday through a video link from the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center where bond was set at $2,500. However, the Sun Sentinel states that there is a “hold” on Bieber at the jail which indicates a judge may ultimately determine what bond amount the singer would face before being freed from the facility.

This is the first arrest for the Canadian-born singer who’s had numerous run-ins with the law over the last couple of years. Neighbors have accused him of speeding and reckless driving, spitting in one neighbor’s face and responding to loud late-night parties in his posh Calabasas neighborhood where he’s currently under investigation for an egg throwing incident which has caused $20,000 worth of damage to a neighbor’s home exterior. Cops raided his mansion last Tuesday with a search warrant and seized his cell phone and security system for evidence. They also arrested rapper Lil Za for drug possession. No charges have been filed against Bieber at this time for the egging. Charges have consistently been thrown out for all other complaints by the Los Angeles County District Attorney for lack of evidence after an investigation including being accused of punching a paparazzi in a Calabasas shopping center.

Bieber’s arrest could warrant (pun intended) immigration issues for the young superstar. CNN states that his work visa could be restricted in the United States which would prevent him for living here for the said amount of time.
