Pop star dethrones country’s Morgan Wallen
Justin Bieber has scored his eighth No. 1 album on the Billboard Top 200 chart with Justice, making him the youngest solo artist with eight chart-topping albums (he was already the youngest with seven). Bieber achieved 154k equivalent album units earned in the U.S., with 119k streaming equivalent albums (or 157.02 on-demand streams), in the week ending March 25th, according to Billboard.
Bieber dethrones Morgan Wallen’s record-breaking Dangerous: The Double Album from its domination for the past 10 consecutive weeks. It drops four percent (or 66k equivalent sales) from No. 1 to No. 3 this week even as radio stations have quietly been tracked reinstating his music to their playlists after being blacklisted early last month following a video that surfaced of him using a racial slur.
Justice marks the second-biggest week of 2021 after Dangerous debuted with 265k on the January 23rd-dated chart.
Lana Del Rey’s Chemtrails Over The Country Club bows at No. 2 with 75k equivalent album units earned. This marks the first time No. 1 and No. 2 albums debut on the Billboard Top 200 since December when Taylor Swift’s Evermore and Kid Cudi’s Man on the Moon III: The Chosen landed in those spots.
All ten of Bieber’s albums have reached the Top 10, missing the top slot only twice with My World Acoustic (No. 7) and My World EP (No. 5), both released in 2010.
