The project is due on February 21st
Kameron Marlowe will release Sad Songs For The Soul on February 21st via Sony Music Nashville. Produced by Ben West, the project will feature ten tracks that seek to create a cathartic experience for listeners, diving headfirst into the emotions of heartbreak.
“I’ve had these songs for a while now, but I was never sure if I wanted to actually release them all. I kept coming back to the idea of doing a concept record of only sad songs but was honestly nervous that it might be too different from what fans are used to hearing from me,” Marlowe shares. “I wanted to push the boundaries a little and put out an unexpected, soulful, stripped project full of heartbreak at all stages in life. Ben West produced the project and I cannot be more thrilled on how it turned out. You can really feel the pain behind each song and I hope fans enjoy this new side. Excited to get more music out in 2025!”
In addition to the announcement of Sad Songs For The Soul, Marlowe is giving fans an early look at the project, releasing “Hello Whiskey.” The song, with stripped-down production and emotional vocals from Marlowe, describes the feeling of attempting to numb the pain of an inescapable broken heart with whiskey.
Marlowe reflected on writing the track, sharing, “I wrote ‘Hello Whiskey’ with Kendell Marvel and Phil O’Donnell. We wanted to write a classic heartbreak song that talks about what it feels like when you’re trying your hardest to move on, but you truly cannot get over someone. The melody is a little unexpected but I think that’s what makes this song special.”
In addition to this new music, Marlowe will also join Parker McCollum as support for McCollum’s What Kinda Man Tour 2025 which will kick off in Athens, Georgia on January 23rd and run through April. Marlowe will also hit the road in March for his 2025 Keepin’ The Lights On Tour, beginning in Charles Town, West Virginia on March 7th.
