Country newcomer Karli Whetstone has released her the video for her song “Frozen.” It has nothing to do with the blockbuster Disney film, but instead is about a bad breakup.
The video, directed by award-winning Roman White — who has helmed many videos from Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Justin Bieber and more — features Whetstone embedded under water for much of the four minute song. Perhaps Whetstone is “drowning” from the breakup or “drowning” away the memories.
Produced by members of Jason Aldean’s backing band – known as New Voice – the song is consistent with today’s pop/country radio brand and will fit in well. Plus, she has already performed for thousands alongside Taylor Swift, Joe Nichols, Emerson Drive and others.
Her first single, “I Didn’t,” from her self-titled four track EP, reached the Top 50. But it’s in her native Ohio where most are familiar with the singer/songwriter with the song “Ohio,” in which Whetstone wrote and performed for Ohio State University that is performed during football games.
The video is below and if you’re a fan, you can visit her iTunes page for more music.
