Keith Urban has announced that he will release Fuse on September 10th via Hit Red Records/Capitol Nashville. Fuse will be his first album in nearly three years and his seventh studio effort overall. Urban spent nearly a year making the record as he was also busy being a first time judge on Fox’s American Idol.
“I really wanted to challenge myself musically…expand the boundaries of my sound, rhythm and melody, while still remaining true to who I am,” Urban states. “Working with various co-producers while making Fuse, has been so inspiring and liberating – and we ain’t even done yet!”
The first single from the record, “Little Bit Of Everything” was an instant hit when it was released to country radio on May 13th. The track has quite the R&B feel that Urban used on his solo debut in 1999.
“On the song I was able to take elements of sound that I’ve used before and blend them together into a fusion of spirit and energy,” he says.
The album will be available on CD and LP. It will contain duets with Miranda Lambert and Eric Church. A deluxe edition will include three bonus tracks for a total of 16.
Earlier this month, Urban confirmed to Ellen DeGeneres that he is replacing long time judge Randy Jackson on the aging American Idol for its 13th season. Urban will launch his Light The Fuse Tour 2013 on July 18th in Cincinnati. The trek features Little Big Town and Dustin Lynch.
