Singer previews project in new video

Keith Urban has set his 11th studio album The Speed of Now Part 1 for September 18th via UMG Nashville. The Australian country superstar shared the news and previewed the album via a nearly three minute video on Friday (May 8th).

“In October 2019 this album title came to me. I liked it because I felt like life was flying by so fast,” Urban says in a video promoting the project. “But music (for me) has always been the place where it slows down and doesn’t even exist. I would never have imagined that, in 2020, this album title would take on a whole new meaning, and somehow still feel incredibly relevant.”

Fans have already been treated to “We Were” and “God Whispered Your Name” from the album. He also previewed the tracks “Tumbleweed, “Polaroid,” “Change Your Mind,” “Wait” and “Superman.”

The album drops two days after he hosts the 55th Annual Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards on September 16th in Nashville. It’s the first time the show will be held in the city, but was decided following COVID-19. The show will be Urban’s first time hosting and will air on the CBS Television Network and stream live on CBS All Access.
