The singer will also contribute two songs to the series

Kellie Pickler is joining the cast of Nickelodeon’s Shimmer and Shine. Starting tonight (Friday, March 3rd), Pickler will lend her voice for Zora the genie pirate in the animated children’s series. The show was introduced to Nick Jr. in 2015,  and follows the magical adventures of fraternal twin genies, Shimmer and Shine, who unintentionally create chaos while attempting to grant wishes for their human best friend, Leah. Pickler sings two new original songs in the series as Zora.

“I’m so excited for everyone to be introduced to Zora the genie pirate on Shimmer and Shine. She loves a big adventure, is oh-so fearless and a bit of a spitfire!” shares Pickler, who told People.com last summer that being the voice of Zora is her most impressive accomplishment according to her young niece. “I loved being the voice for her…I hope Zora gets to go on many more adventures with her friends.”

Pickler and Zora debut on Nickelodeon this Friday, March 3rd at 11 am ET/10 am CT.

Award-winning country recording artist Kellie Pickler has lent her big voice and personality to a multitude of projects over the years, including joining VeggieTales: Beauty And The Beet as Maribelle the Sweet Potato, portraying Abigail Farland in the animated CMT series Bounty Hunter, and most recently on the set of her CMT reality series I Love Kellie Pickler. She is also rumored to be developing a talk show with fellow singer Faith Hill.
