The singer will release her first new non holiday in four years
Kelly Clarkson fans have a lot to look forward to in 2015: a new album and tour, as Clarkson teased her new album on Twitter early Saturday (Jan 3rd).
Clarkson revealed very little info about the project, her first album of all new material in more than three years. Most known for being a pop star, Clarkson has dabbled in country music–collaborating with Reba McEntire, who is now Clarkson’s step-mother-in-law, Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean, Martina McBride and others–leaving fans wondering what to expect. However, the singer (and new mom) confirms it’s a pop album with “pop-rock/country/r&b/dance” influence.
She also teased a duet on the album saying “this wasn’t our first time to sing together,” although she didn’t reveal her duet partner, who could be anyone from McEntire, Aldean, Shelton and McBride to Jewel and British pop star Robbie Williams or a slew of other acts.
Clarkson did reveal that the first single would be released this month and teased “2 clues for the first single ….Proof of life & Dr. Dre
While no exact date was revealed, she did say “summer 2015” for the album’s release date and tour.
Clarkson’s last album was 2013’s Wrapped In Red Christmas collection. Her last new single was “Tie It Up” which was released exclusively to country radio and iTunes in June 2013. This would be Clarkson’s first new album of all new non-holiday material since 2011’s Stronger.
