Kelly Clarkson teases new music

The song is expected to drop on her new label

Kelly Clarkson is prepping to release her new single “Where Have You Been.” The global pop star teased the song by sharing the album artwork on social media on Friday (Apr 18th) with the caption, “Soon.”

This new single appears to be her first independent release under her own new record label which she announced in January. Fans are speculating that this song might be a part of a new album, but no additional details have been released as of press time.

Clarkson’s last official non-Christmas solo single was “Favorite Kind of High” in 2023 on her former label, Atlantic Records. Her most recent release is a collaboration with Rascal Flatts on an updated version of their hit single “I’m Movin’ On” from their forthcoming Life is a Highway: Refueled Duets album.

The news follows a two-week absence from her eponymous daytime talker, The Kelly Clarkson Show, last month. She suddenly disappeared before the show on March 3rd, leading to several guest hosts to fill in. She returned on March 18th and 31st, but was absent again on April 1st. The most cited reason for her absence was a “personal matter” that reportedly did not directly involve her health, although Clarkson has not addressed the absence.

Rumors have circulated that Clarkson wants to end the seven-year run of her show after NBCUniversal moved it from Los Angeles to a state-of-the-art facility at New York City’s Rockefeller Center ahead of season five in 2023, per Clarkson’s request.

Since its launch in 2019, the program has collected televisionโ€™s most prestigious awards. The show has won 22 Daytime Emmys, including multiple wins for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series and Outstanding Daytime Talk Series Host; two Peopleโ€™s Choice Awards for Best Talk Show of the Year; and accolades from the Alliance for Women in Mediaโ€™s Gracie Awards, winning the Talk Show Entertainment category three times.

The global superstar returns to Las Vegas this summer for a new residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Kelly Clarkson: Studio Sessionsโ€”The Las Vegas Residency will kick off on Friday, July 4th, and will include 18 performances through November 15th. The new residency follows Clarkson’s sold-out exclusive Las Vegas engagement at PH Live at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in 2023 and 2024.
