Event airs live from Nashville on Apr 11th on CBS

CMT has announced country music superstar Kelsea Ballerini and acclaimed actor Anthony Mackie will take the stage together as co-hosts of the 2022 CMT Music Awards, country music’s only entirely fan-voted award show, broadcasting live from Nashville on Monday, April 11th from 8-11 pm ET/delayed PT. This will be the inaugural broadcast of the annual award show on the CBS Television Network, as Paramount’s signature country music tentpole celebrates the hottest stars with high-powered, cross-genre performances from in and around Music City. The show will also be available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+.

This marks Mackie’s first time as host, after he presented the highly-coveted “Video of the Year” award last year, and Ballerini’s second consecutive year hosting. Nominations for the 2022 CMT Music Awards will be announced on Wednesday, March 16th, in tandem with the start of fan voting. Additional details on Nominations, Performers and Presenters to be announced in the coming weeks.

Additionally, CMT will air CMT Music Awards Extended Cut with an added 30 minutes of new performances and extra bonus content on Friday, April 15th from 8-11:30 pm ET. Additional details on the extended cut and CMT Music Awards Week programming will be announced at a later date.

The show will broadcast from Nashville’s historic Municipal Auditorium and various locations in and around Nashville. The show was initially set for Sunday, April 3rd at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, but was moved after the Recording Academy postponed the 64th GRAMMY Awards from January 31st in Los Angeles due to an uptick of COVID cases.
