Kenny Loggins to receive Outstanding Career Achievement Award

Hollywood Music in Media Awards will honor the pop star

Two time Grammy winner and Oscar nominee Kenny Loggins is receiving the Career Achievement honor at the next Hollywood Music in Media Awards (HMMA) on January 27, 2021 in a hybrid awards show. The “Footloose” singer-songwriter will also perform during the HMMA event.

Loggins joins a distinguished list of past HMMA honorees including Smokey Robinson, Diane Warren, Earth Wind & Fire, Glen Campbell, Dave Mason and film composer John Debney.

Loggins is a singer/songwriter, guitarist, pianist and producer from  Everett, Washington. His remarkable four-decade-plus career has brought him from the top of the charts to the toast of the Grammys. He’s had smash hits on Hollywood’s favorite soundtracks — such as Footloose, Caddyshack, and Top Gun — rocked worldwide stages, and found his way into children’s hearts while bringing his soulful, beautiful voice to platinum albums of a stunning variety of genres.

In the 70’s, Loggins rose to fame as one half of the duo, Loggins & Messina with Jim Messina. The pair released a slew of successful albums between 1972-1976 and reunited for an album and tour in 2005.

The Hollywood Music In Media Awards is the first award organization to honor original music (Song and Score) in all visual media from around the globe including film, TV, video games, trailers, commercial advertisements, documentaries and special programs. The HMMA nominations have historically been representative of the nominees of key awards shows that are announced months later. The HMMA main event features live music performances, celebrity presenters, tributes to music industry icons, awards for composers, songwriters and artists. The HMMA also celebrates emerging, independent artists and music influencers from around the globe for creative and innovative contributions.
