Project is due sometime this year

Grammy Award-nominated and multi-Platinum recording artist The Kid Laroi is returning with “Can’t Go Back To The Way It Was (Intro),” the first song from his upcoming project, The First Time. After announcing The First Time with the accompanying coming-of-age inspired trailer last week, the rapper is following up with the release of “Can’t Go Back To The Way It Was (Intro)” with the official video directed by Julian Klincewicz.

The stripped-down video shows The Kid Laroi in a raw and thoughtful state, contemplating his own memories before surprising fans at the end of the “Intro” with the release date for the upcoming song “Love Again” coming on Friday, January 27th.

The album is set to be released later this year via Columbia Records.

The Kid Laroi and Justin Bieber finished last year at No. 1 on the Top Songs of 2022 with their collaboration “Stay.” Released in the summer of 2021, the track spent a staggering 51 days atop Apple’s Daily Top 100: Global and remained sticky well through 2022. “Stay” has not dropped out of the Daily Top 100: Global since its release, and has reached No. 1 on the Daily Top 100 in 69 countries and regions worldwide.

The 19-year-old superstar has earned dozens of Gold, Platinum, and multi-Platinum certifications, toppled the Billboard Hot 100 with the quadruple-Platinum “Stay.” He also captured the top spot on the Billboard Top 200 with his Fuck Love project and sold out last year’s first-ever global headlining tour.
