Kid Rock donates $100k to small business fund

The Barstool Fund is raising money for small businesses

Kid Rock has donated $100,000 to small businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The singer/songwriter/rapper has donated to the Barstool Fund which is raising funds for restaurants, bars, gyms, and other small businesses to stay in business while being forced to shut down due to local and national health mandates.

“THIS IS THE AMERICA I LOVE!,” Kid Rock, who’s real name is Bob Ritchie, shares on social media. “Put me down for 100k. And I only post this in hopes others as blessed as me may be moved to help out.”

Founder of Barstool Sports Dave Portnoy introduced the Barstool Fund in December with an initial launch of $500,000 to help as many businesses as possible. He says businesses must still being paying their employees and share why they need the money in order to qualify for assistance.

“Each month we will continue to cut you a check for how much you need to stay in business until this thing’s over,” Portnoy says.

As of this writing, the Barstool Fund is supporting 80 businesses throughout the United States and has raised nearly $19 million.
