Doctors put Jonathan Davis on vocal rest

Korn has canceled its performance at Pointfest in St. Louis for Saturday, May 13th. Frontman Jonathan Davis was put on vocal rest by doctors, causing the band to cancel KPNT 105.7’s annual heavy metal festival.

“We regret to announce that we will not be performing at Pointfest this weekend,” the band writes on Facebook. “Jonathan has been given doctor’s orders to rest his vocal cords, and is not able to perform on Saturday. We’re sorry we can’t be there with you and for you, and appreciate your understanding.”

The post includes a video with Davis explaining the situation.

“Obviously you know we’ve canceled some shows. I just wanted to make a little video so you can hear my voice is thrash. I’ve had to cancel some shows. This stuff happens sometimes. There’s nothing I can do about it,” he states. “I need to rest up and get my voice back into good singing shape. I’ll be out there rocking you guys, hopefully, next weekend at Rock on the Range. Again, my apologizes. I’m sorry for everything, but sometimes this stuff just happens.”

Rock on the Range in Columbus, OH set for Saturday, May 20th is sold out. The band takes a month break before hitting the road again on June 16th in Salt Lake City. The North American tour, in support of their latest album, The Serenity Of Suffering, runs through August 2nd with overseas dates in August and September.
