Korn reunites with Brian ‘Head’ Welch for new studio album

Welch’s last album with Korn was in 2003

Korn fans waiting for the return of original guitarist and band member Brian “Head” Welch can now relax.  The group has announced that they’re currently in the studio recording their 11th studio album with Welch on guitar.  This is the first album in ten years that Welch has recorded with the band, and will be the follow up to 2011’s dubstep-induced Path To Totality.

Rolling Stone reports the band is returning to its guitar-based roots for the untitled album that is scheduled for release later this summer. The last album Welch was heard on was 2003’s Take A Look In The Mirror, but the guitarist says the band decided to record again together after successfully reconnecting.

“We knew we would have a blast playing together, because we love each other so much, but we really wanted to make sure the music felt right before we committed to making a whole album together,” Welch says. “But since we got in the studio, everything just started pouring out, now I can’t wait until our fans hear this stuff!”

Welch and Korn hit the road for a world tour beginning May 15th in Belle Vernon, PA and wrap July 19th in Cadott, WI. Special a la carte VIP packages will be available at select shows to gives fans a unique experience to interact with the group.
