Book is due in Nov
This fall, Melville House will publish the newest addition to their acclaimed Last Interview series, Kurt Cobain: The Last Interview. As the lead singer and guitarist of Nirvana, Kurt Cobain changed American music as few musicians ever have. His instantly identifiable raspy croon, his slash-and-burn guitar playing, and his corrosive and poetic lyrics made him a hero to a generation of lost souls. His meteoric career created a cultural influence that would never wane, and in interviews he was funny, thoughtful, sarcastic, impassioned, and even kind.
“I am too stubborn ever to allow myself to compromise our music,” Cobain once shared.
Kurt Cobain: The Last Interview features eight interviews with Cobain, three of which are broadcast interviews that have never been published in print, and an original introductory essay by acclaimed author Dana Spiotta. Whether he is talking about books, his peers in other bands, drugs, or the challenges of family life, these are the words of a man grappling with his inner demons and the pressures of fame.
The book will be released on November 22nd and contain an introduction by Dana Spiotta. Cobain interviews with CD Now, Guitar World, Much Music TV, Rolling Stone journalist David Fricke and Fender Frontline Magazine spanning 1990-1994 are among the ten featured.
