The legendary venue will close for good after her seven night stand
Iconic New York City venue Roseland Ballroom is closing its doors for good in 2014, and Lady Gaga is shutting down her hometown venue with a sold out seven night residency. Gaga will play the final shows ever at the Roseland on March 28th, 30th, 31st, April 2nd, April 4th, April 6th and April 7th.
Back in August 2008, before Gaga’s first single “Just Dance” became a #1 hit, she was stopped on the streets of New York while shopping and asked by a photographer if he could take her picture. She of course obliged, and when he asked who she was, she replied “I’m Lady Gaga. A singer/songwriter. You’re going to know me one day.” Almost six years later, Gaga has re-purposed the image to celebrate her coming up as a New York artist and the history of what it means to be closing down this venue.
