LANCO debuts ‘Hallelujah Nights’ at No. 1

The album debuts on Billboard Top Country Albums Chart

Platinum selling breakthrough band LANCO claims the No. One spot on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart this week with Hallelujah Nights (Arista Nashville), marking the first country band to open at No. One with a debut album since Lady Antebellum in 2008. Featuring their two-week No. One hit “Greatest Love Story” and their new single “Born To Love You” the “collection puts an anthemic spin on young love and small-town life” (The Tennessean) and has dominated the top of the iTunes Country chart since its release.

“Over the past five years we wanted to ride this dream as far as it would go and it’s hard to find the words to describe our debut record at the top of the chart,” states lead singer Brandon Lancaster. “We couldn’t be more grateful to see people gravitating towards these new songs that represent who we are, and its been wild to see these crowds sing every line back to us.”

Following performances on The Ellen Degeneres Show, The Bachelor, the TODAY Show and Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the “arena-rock leaning band” (Entertainment Weekly) brought their “twangy rock with blistering guitars and chugging rhythms” (Nashville Scene) to capacity crowds this past weekend at the Gramercy Theatre in NYC, Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ, PBR in Baltimore and The Bluestone in Columbus, OH. LANCO “has given fans what they’ve been waiting for” (Pop Culture) and critics continue to champion Hallelujah Nights, which features 11 tracks co-written by the band’s lead singer and namesake, Brandon Lancaster.

“Greatest Love Story” is more than just boy meets girl. “The basis of the song is ‘we could meet in between, we were gonna be the greatest love story this town has ever seen,’” Lancaster tells The Music Universe exclusively. “For me, the song was really just about compromise and two different people kinda meeting in the middle and finding love through that. I didn’t know what I was going to do, but I kinda wanted to write a song about two people from two different backgrounds finding each other and how that panned out.”
