Lauren Watkins to release ‘Lose My Cool’

The rising country star turns up the heat on April 4th

Big Loud Records’ Nashville-bred songbird Lauren Watkins heats things with the announcement of her next single “Lose My Cool,” out April 4th. The bold, new track follows her full-length 2024 debut album The Heartbroken Record, and signals an exciting new chapter in the artist’s blossoming career. Blending raw honesty with a fresh outlook, Watkins is stepping into her power and showing listeners exactly who she is.

Written by Watkins, Will Bundy and songwriting heavy-hitters Nicolle Galyon and Rodney Clawson, “Lose My Cool” blends her signature smoky neo-traditional country with a modern edge. Inspired by her marriage, the song captures the moment when your guard comes down for the right person, balancing independence with undeniable attraction. Her smoky vocals weave between a drawl and a smirk as she delivers a song that trades overly sentimental clichés for sharp, real emotion.

Following the success of The Heartbroken Record, a 17-track debut, featuring standout tracks “Gatlinburg,” “Anybody But You” and “Settling Things,” Watkins is moving on from heartbreak and on to greener pastures. Now happily married to producer Bundy, Watkins steps forward with a renewed sense of confidence, proving that sometimes losing your cool is exactly what you’re meant to do.

Fans will get the chance to hear “Lose My Cool” live as Watkins hits the road next weekend with Zach Top for his Cold Beer and Country Music Tour, which will visit her old stomping grounds of Mississippi. After spending 2024 on Morgan Wallen’s One Thing At A Time Tour, Watkins will continue earning her stripes on the road as she joins Riley Green and Lainey Wilson this summer and fall.
