The event returns to San Francisco this September
Goldenvoice has announced that Portola, the premiere Bay Area dance music festival, is back Saturday, September 20th and Sunday, September 21st at San Franciscoโs Pier 80 after selling out in 2024.
Portolaโs 2025 lineup features headlining performances from Grammy-winning dance music legends LCD Soundsystem and world-renowned Australian Aria-winning DJ and producer, Dom Dolla. Also performing at this yearโs festival are highly acclaimed electronic, house, techno, indie dance, and pop artists such as Christina Aguilera, The Chemical Brothers (DJ Set in the Warehouse), Underworld, Peggy Gou, The Prodigy, Moby (Live), Anti Up (Chris Lake & Chris Lorenzo), Mau P and many more!
For the first time ever, Despacioโthe high-powered enclosed sound system and immersive audio experience designed by James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem, David and Stephen Dewaele of 2ManyDJs and Soulwax, and sound engineer John Klettโis coming to San Francisco. Murphy and the Dewaele brothers will be spinning vinyl inside the Despacio tent all weekend long.
Fresh off his sold-out European tour celebrating the 25th anniversary of his groundbreaking album Play, dance music pioneer Moby will be performing live for the first time in San Francisco in over a decade. On the heels of their explosive Coachella performance, The Prodigy will be performing for the first time at Portola, and the iconic dance-punk group The Rapture will be performing their first announced show following an extended hiatus. Additionally, โBrat Summerโ successor Blood Orange joins the lineup with teases of new music on the horizon.
This year, the inaugural Portola headliners, The Chemical Brothers, will be shutting down the Warehouse on Saturday for whatโs expected to be an unforgettable DJ set. This performance will be their only confirmed North American DJ set this year outside of a New York date. Anti Up, the live side project of dance music forces Chris Lake and Chris Lorenzo, will also perform their only confirmed show of 2025.
Following three consecutive standout years featuring headliners The Chemical Brothers and Flume in 2022, Skrillex and Eric Prydz Presents Holo in 2023, and Justice, Gesaffelstein, and Rufus Du Sol in 2024, Portola has established its footprint in the Bay Areaโs music scene and solidified its status as a one-of-a-kind, canโt-miss festival. Goldenvoiceโs deep-rooted presence in San Francisco and the Bay Area, shaped by a legacy of operating and booking iconic venues like The Regency Ballroom, The Warfield, and Frost Amphitheater, underscores its ongoing commitment to grow the cityโs reputation as a global destination for music and culture.
