The 400-page book will be released in October 2018

Led Zeppelin has published an update on the progress of their illustrated book, Led Zeppelin by Led Zeppelin, available this fall. The book will be published in October 2018 by Reel Art Press to celebrate fifty years since the formation of the band.

Work on the official book is nearly complete. The images have been carefully selected and annotated throughout by Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and John Paul Jones. The trio were photographed in May 2018 holding their working draft of the book.

“Led Zeppelin by Led Zeppelin is the first and only official illustrated book ever to be produced in full collaboration with the members of the band,” the book’s publisher states. “Celebrating 50 years since their formation, this definitive 400-page volume charts the group’s unparalleled musical career from the very first performance in a tiny club, to their performance at London’s O2 Arena, when 20 million fans broke the world record for highest demand for tickets for a single concert.”

The band plans to share regular updates and sneak previews showing the work in progress over the next several months.

The book is one of many projects co-founder Jimmy Page shares is coming. Page confirms unheard Zeppelin music will also be released, although he didn’t elaborate to what extent. The band’s label, Warner Music Group (WMG), is prepping “a series of high-profile events” for the group’s 50th anniversary in 2018 which included a statue of drummer John Bonham being erected in his hometown of Redditch, England on what would have been his 70th birthday on May 31st.
