The album is currently charting in Billboard’s Top 200 charts, a new record for the 21 year old artist who signed to Rule #1/Interscope Records nearly three years ago. A unique voice emerging from the booming Florida rap scene, Poppa will soon release a behind the scenes look on the making of his project and career in the form of a short documentary.

Blessed, I Guess is Lil Poppa debut studio album with Rule #1/Interscope Records. The Jacksonville, FL artist has made a name for himself in the industry as one of the most humble and hardworking artists around. He’s quietly amassed over 500 million streams across his last few projects, toured the country on sold out dates with Polo G and Mozzy and collected cosigns from rap’s greatest like the late DMX, Lil Durk, Stunna 4 Vegas and more. The magic to Lil Poppa’s rise is his consistency and hard hitting lyricism that speaks volumes to so many fans who grew up in similar situations. Both the documentary and album marks a pivotal point in Poppa’s career — one that continues to position the young rapper as one of the genre’s goats in the making.

With his powerful wordplay and soulful storytelling, Lil Poppa turns each of his songs into an up-close account of life in his hometown of Jacksonville, FL. At just 18-years-old, he drew major attention for tracks like “Purple Hearts” — an independent release that’s organically amassed over 2.3 million YouTube views, all on the strength of Poppa’s straight-from-the-heart delivery and hard-hitting lyrics. Poppa began rapping each week at church, joining a group of friends and sharing rhymes with a spiritual bent. At age 12, he built a makeshift studio in his closet and started self-recording with a laptop and Radio Shack microphone. With a string of mixtapes under his belt, Poppa made his breakthrough with a pair of singles from 2018: “Nightmare on Elm St.” and “Purple Hearts,” whose cinematic video revealed the real-life story behind the song.” At the beginning of 2019, Poppa was scooped by Interscope Records’s Rule 1 joint venture. Since the signing, Poppa has been on the grind collaborating with artists like Mozzy, Polo G, Justin Rarri and most recently Stunna 4 Vegas; having played support to the first two on their nation wide tours. Poppa also maintains his consistency by releasing solid projects like Almost Normal and Under Investigation 2 which has racked up praise from the likes of Pitchfork, Hypebeast, Complex, Hot New Hip Hop and more.
