Lil Yachty drops ‘Murda’

The song & video are available now

Lil Yachty has officially released his latest song โ€œMurdaโ€ along with an accompanying music video. Reimagining the 2016 viral hit โ€œAlaska,โ€ Yachty delivers a barrage of introspective lyrics over a chopped up Maggie Rogers vocal sample.

Directed by frequent collaborator AMD Visuals, and produced and released under Lyrical Lemonade, the cinematic music video highlights Yachtyโ€™s impeccable fashion sense as the creative maverick piles up riches at a shooting range with two luxuriously styled models, while rapid outfit changes flood the screen.

The new track follows his recent run of shows with Tyler, the Creator on the Chromakopia World Tour.

Lil Yachty first gained widespread attention in 2015 with his viral hit “One Night” and has since become a prominent figure in hip-hop, often associated with “mumble rap” and “bubblegum trap” styles due to his unique vocal delivery and lighthearted, optimistic image. While initially known for his distinct rap style, he has also explored other genres, notably with his 2023 album Let’s Start Here, which showcased a departure into psychedelic rock, receiving critical acclaim. His 2024 collaborative album with James Blake, Bad Cameo, continued this genre experimentation.
