Bon Jovi has surprised their fans with a new single, “Saturday Night Gave Me Sunday Morning,” which made its world premiere on Austria radio Friday (July 17th) and can be heard below.
The track is available at radio now and is set to be available on iTunes on July 31st. It’s the first single from Burning Bridges, set for release August 21st on Island Records.
The song was written by Jon Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora and John Shanks and produced by Jon Bon Jovi and John Shanks, was recorded between New York and Los Angeles. Fan site, Dry County, is reporting the track is one of many recorded, but not included, on the band’s 2009 album, The Circle.
Universal Music has yet to announce the contents of Burning Bridges, but it’s likely a compilation of outtakes from previous records since guitarist Richie Sambora left the band in 2013, but is credited as a songwriter on “Saturday Night.” Jon Bon Jovi has also stated that he is currently recording a new album slated to be released in 2016.
A Bon Jovi spokesperson tells Billboard, “Burning Bridges, which will be released August 21st, is an album for fans and will accompany an upcoming international tour. The band is hard at work on their next album, which will see a full-scale release in 2016.”
Universal Spain reports the band will also hit the road in support of the record, although no further details have been revealed.
