The clip was filmed in Detroit
LL Cool J and Eminem have shared the video for “Murdergram Deux.” The clip was filmed in Detroit and directed by JakeTheShooter.
The energetic performance transitions seamlessly between meticulously recreated sets, bringing legendary album covers and timeless hip-hop visuals to life in a fresh, modern way. The moments include LL’s album cover of Bigger and Deffer (BAD), Big Daddy Kane’s cover art for Long Live the Kane, LL’s “Going Back to Cali” music video, and the 1996 “Live from Death Row” Vibe cover.
The song is featured on LL Cool J’s 14th studio album, The FORCE (Frequencies of Real Creative Energy), available now via Def Jam Recordings/Virgin Music Group. The highly anticipated 14-track record also features Nas, Rick Ross, Fat Joe, Busta Rhymes, Saweetie, Snoop Dogg, Don Pablito, J-S.A.N.D., Mad Squablz, and Sona Jobarteh.
The album highlights new music styles from LL, all with the lyrical and conceptual genius one can always expect from him. The FORCE covers heady topical themes like racial injustice, law enforcement abuses, isolation, and observations brought on by the pandemic, legacy, and musings on LL’s place in the canon while remaining vital, fun, and some of LL’s most urgent lyrical work. With his 14th studio album, LL offers a roadmap for the terrain an entire genre and culture might soon be inspired enough to explore.
Both artists will perform at tonight’s (Wed, Sept 11th) MTV VMAs with Eminem opening the show. Eminem will treat fans to the first TV show performance from his recently released 12th studio LP The Death of Slim Shady while LL’s performance has not been revealed.
