Lola Young drops ‘Not Like That Anymore’

The song appears on her forthcoming fall album

South London singer/songwriter Lola Young has released “Not Like That Anymore” from her forthcoming third studio album, I’m Only Fucking Myself, due September 19th via Island Records. An instant alternative anthem that builds to an emotive crescendo, “Not Like That Anymore” showcases Lola as open and forthright as she’s ever been and serves as an exciting taste of what’s to come from Young’s forthcoming album.

The album encapsulates emotional and musical growth. It’s a bright, touching body of work that often dives into the dark and raw but is counterbalanced by Lola’s uncompromising attitude, unafraid to get candid with exactly how she feels. Co-written and produced with frequent collaborators Manuka and SOLOMONOPHONIC (Doja Cat, SZA), Young’s upcoming third album explores themes of self-sabotage, using vices like sex and drugs as a form of escapism, which can quickly turn into nihilism. It features Lola’s recent offering, “One Thing,” which has accumulated millions of streams and continues to climb the Top 20 UK Singles Chart since its release.

Young is the recipient of the Rising Star accolade at this year’s Ivor Novello Awards, following her Best Pop Act nomination at this year’s BRIT Awards. She has since collaborated with Tyler, The Creator on “Like Him,” and Lil Yachty on “Charlie,” and continues to make a global impact with her music and compelling personality. Following her debut appearance at Coachella earlier this year, Young opened for Billie Eilish in Paris during her Hit Me Hard and Soft headlining tour and has an exciting UK and European Summer festival run, including a hotly-tipped debut appearance at Glastonbury next Friday before an anticipated return to North America for a headline run of dates this November.
