Dualtone Records celebrates fifteen years in business with the release of a new compilation album on October 7th. The album, titled In Case You Missed It: 15 Years of Dualtone, features a collection of rare, unreleased, and classic tracks from their diverse roster, including artists like The Lumineers, Shakey Graves, Brett Dennen, Delta Spirit, Shovels & Rope, Guy Clark, Langhorne Slim, June Carter Cash and more.

The first song to debut from the compilation, “Tomorrow,” is a rare bootleg track from indie breakout Shakey Graves. Shakey won Best New and Emerging Artist at last year’s Americana Awards and his debut album “And the War Came” has gone on to sell over 65,000 records while garnering over 40 million streams on Spotify.

Based in Nashville, Dualtone’s small but dedicated staff of eight employees has propelled the artists on their roster to reach some huge milestones, including four Grammy Awards and sixteen total nominations. Dualtone achieved massive success with the release of The Lumineers’ self-titled debut album in 2012, which is approaching triple platinum status. The Lumineers’ 2016 release Cleopatra also debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 Chart.

Despite their growth, “the core of the label has stayed the same, in a lot of ways,” says Dualtone president Paul Roper. “Most of us have been here almost a decade together. We had to make a conscious decision to not change our signing philosophy and to not bring on fifteen new employees, and to maintain the hustle and that ethos of ‘don’t forget where you came from.’ Giving albums our full dedication, giving them their own appropriate time and space to find an audience, is something that has always been important to us.”

“We’ve reached some great milestones, but I think we are most proud of the culture we have created amongst the staff and with the artists we work with,” says Roper. “It’s a great honor that artists trust us with their records. Many of the bands on our roster are friends who tour and collaborate together, and that is really how our brand keeps growing – word of mouth within the artistic community.”

In Case You Missed It: 15 Years of Dualtone represents the eclectic mix of the label’s roster over the years, spanning from blues to country to indie rock to folk. “Some of the best songs in this business are the ones that never get heard by a larger audience. This was our chance to shine a light on some of the deeper cuts from the catalog,” says Roper.

A vinyl release is set for later this year.
