Band hopes to continue the trek in 2021

Lynyrd Skynyrd has canceled the July-October dates of its Last of the Street Survivors Farewell Tour due to COVID-19. The group shares that the decision was a difficult one, but was based on “too many unknown factors” that are yet to come.

“It is with heavy hearts that we will not be able to move forward with the arena shows listed below. Ticketmaster and Live Nation will be automatically processing full refunds for ticket purchases to those shows. It was decided after much discussion that this was the best decision for everyone, based on the information we have today. There are too many unknown factors and questions to be able to move forward at this point. The band also has high risk members, so the safety of the fans, band and crew are a priority. In addition, with the current economic struggles (30 million unemployed) we felt it was prudent to get the ticket refund money into the fan’s hands, that may need that ticket refund revenue, now,” the band shares.

“This is a difficult decision but one we felt is the best for everyone involved at this moment in time. Hopefully we will see you in 2021 and make up the performances and bring the music to the fans.

“As always we appreciate your support and hope your families are safe.”

Eli Young Band and Travis Tritt were set as special guests on select stops.

Produced by Live Nation, the career-concluding farewell tour has logged over 100 stops in the U.S. and internationally over the since it began in 2018 with Scotland’s The Herald calling the band, “still free as a bird, forty years later.” The Last of the Street Survivors Farewell Tour marks a big moment for generations of fans, as Lynyrd Skynyrd has been touring consistently since the 90’s.

Despite the tour cancellation, the band was just announced as one of three headliners for the Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam taking place September 4-6th in Panama City Beach, FL. Tickets, limited three-day general parking and platinum parking passes and finance packages are on sale now at GulfCoastJam.com.

“We’ve said we want to play every venue and market we’ve ever visited around the world and even some we haven’t, so we get to see all of Skynyrd Nation,” said Lynyrd Skynyrd lead singer Johnny Van Zant. “We didn’t get to play Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam in 2016 because of a hurricane so we are excited to return to the festival with our farewell tour!”
