M.I.A. will release her fifth studio album, titled A.I.M., on Interscope Records September 9th. The set will feature her brand-new single, โGo Off,โ which is out today (Fri, July 15th). The track โ a hypnotic, bass-heavy amalgam of hip-hop, electro, and global beats – was produced by Skrillex and frequent M.I.A. collaborator Blaqstarr. โGo Offโ premiered on Thursday (July 14th)ย on Annie Macโs โHottest Record In The Worldโ on BBC Radio One along with an interview with M.I.A. The single is available for digital download and streaming via all participating digital retailers.
An accompanying video for โGo Offโ has premiered on Vevo. Directed by M.I.A., the video features images of controlled underground explosions in the desert that capture the fiery nature of the song.
โGo Offโ is the second track to be released from M.I.A.โs upcoming fifth studio album which will be out on Interscope Records September 9th . The previous single and video, the politically charged โBorders,โ addressed the refugee crisis and the current global state of affairs โ a topic that M.I.A., who escaped the violence of a civil war in Sri Lanka to come to London as a small child, has been vocal about throughout her career and will continue to touch on in her new album. The โBordersโ video has racked up more than 2.7 million views on YouTube.
