Song tops Billboard and Mediabase charts

Mercury Nashville’s Maddie & Tae have scored their second No. 1 hit with “Die From A Broken Heart.” The song tops both Billboard and Mediabase Country Airplay charts this week. It was written by Maddie Marlow, Taylor Dye, Deric Ruttan and Jonathan Singleton, is a standout track on the award-winning duo’s sophomore album, The Way It Feels.

“Die From A Broken Heart” resonated with audiences immediately while American Songwriter says, “they [Maddie & Tae] excel at constructing tuneful, lyrically direct music that feels authentic, candid and touches a nerve without rattling it.” “Die From A Broken Heart” experienced early success on satellite radio, it is consistently in the Top 5 of country on-demand streaming, it is now No. 1 on country airplay charts, and it was recently certified platinum by the RIAA.

“Ain’t no broken hearts up in here! Thank you to our AMAZING team, country radio & our beautiful fans for making this possible,” the duo shares. “Thank you to our co-writers Jonathan Singleton & Derric Ruttan for helping us tell our story. This is a story we will tell for the rest of our careers. Thank you, God for this wonderful journey to #1 and all the trials that came with it. CHEERS! OMG WE HAVE OUR SECOND #1 AND PLATINUM SONG BABY!!”

With all of the well-deserved accolades “Die From A Broken Heart” has received, Maddie & Tae still focus on the individual listener who may be in need of a song like this, “If even one person out there found healing from this song, THAT is success to us.

Earlier this month, the duo teamed with pop trio Avenue Beat for a pair of Spotify Singles including a fresh take on Harry Styles’ massive summer hit “Watermelon Sugar” and Maddie & Tae’s “Everywhere I’m Goin’.” Last weekend, the duo participated in Song Suffragettes and Women’s Suffrage Centennial Commission centennial celebration for the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment which gave women the constitutional right to vote on August 26, 1920.
