Album drops this summer

Mammoth WVH has announced its second album, Mammoth II, will be released on CD and LP on August 4th via BMG. The debut single from the project, “Another Celebration At The End Of The World,” is currently impacting radio with the music video serving as an 8:25 introduction to the Mammoth WVH live band featuring Frank Sidoris on guitars, Jon Jourdan on guitars, Ronnie Ficarro on bass and Garrett Whitlock on drums.

The project is the first in a new global recordings agreement with BMG.

“I knew that I wanted the new album to contain elements of what people heard on the debut, but also giving me a chance to branch out a bit,” shares Wolfgang Van Halen. “‘Another Celebration At The End Of the World’ is definitely a song that showcases what people can expect from the new album. It is a high-energy rocker with some fun guitar moments on it. I also pushed myself vocally and it is a song I can’t wait to get out and play live. I can see it being a fixture in our live set moving forward.”

Continuing the tradition of writing all of the songs and performing all of the instrumentation and vocals himself, Wolfgang Van Halen set out to challenge himself to expand his sound beyond what people had already come to know him for. From the rocking opener “Right?” to Beatles-esque fade on closer “Better Than You,” Mammoth II showcases the growth of Wolfgang Van Halen as a songwriter, musician and vocalist. Songs like “Like A Pastime,” “Take A Bow” and “Waiting” are all sonically different from each other but unique to what mastermind Wolfgang Van Halen and Mammoth WVH is.

Taking its name from the original band that ultimately became Van Halen, making it all the more special that Wolfgang’s father was also its lead singer, Wolfgang prepared a lifetime to make his first impression with his solo band Mammoth WVH. The songwriter, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist worked tirelessly on material that would become his acclaimed debut album. Playing every instrument and singing each and every note, his music presented a personal and powerful perspective, balancing memorable hooks and tight technicality.

The results ultimately paid off with the album reaching No. 1 on a trio of Billboard charts including Rock, Hard Rock, and Independent Albums, while peaking at No. 12 on the Billboard 200, led by the chart-topping mainstream rock radio singles “Distance” — which received a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Song — “Don’t Back Down,” and the Top 10 “Epiphany.”

Currently on the second leg of their US tour supporting Alter Bridge, Mammoth WVH will also be joining Metallica and Motley Crue on their respective tours this year, making various festival appearances around the globe, as well as their own headlining shows going into 2024.
