Man listens to Nickelback for 168 consecutive hours for charity

Jesse Carey is listening to the Nu Metal band for an entire week

If you think hearing one Nickelback song was torture enough, try listening to the band for 168 consecutive hours! Jesse Carey of RELEVANT Podcast is taking “the ultimate test of human endurance” by listening to the band for an entire week (Feb 16-22) all for charity.

Carey, who has already surpassed his $10,000 goal by raising nearly $24,000 within a week of launching, started the fundraising campaign to help Charity: Water provide clean water to communities around the world.

“Everyday, 1,400 kids die from water-related illnesses before they reach their fifth birthday. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand Filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world,” Carey writes.

Carey claims that one hundred percent of the money will be used to build clean water projects around the world. When each project is complete, Charity: Water will share the photos and GPS coordinates of the exact communities that were serviced with clean water.

Carey, as anyone who commits such musical adultery would, has a good sense of humor about the project. He says, “I’m willing to put my personal health at risk for the challenge. Obviously, exposure to such a large quantity of Nickelback is very dangerous.”

Carey has also consulted doctors who state that “such an endeavor could result in irreversible damage to my ears, brain, kidneys and soul.”

Carey has been consistently updating his Twitter followers will some non-Nickelback fan jokes.
