Megan Moroney is kicking off the holiday season in true emo cowgirl fashion with Blue Christmas …Duh, a surprise EP available now via Columbia Nashville/Columbia Records.
Frequent collaborator Kristian Bush returns to produce the project that features two new original songs, “All I Want for Christmas is a Cowboy” and “Christmas Morning,” along with a heart-melting rendition of the classic “Blue Christmas.” “Cowboy” is a feel-good holiday honky-tonk and sassy fun tune while “Christmas Morning” is a gorgeous new addition to country’s time-honored lineage of holiday heartbreak songs.
The drop follows the release of the fairytale-themed video for “Am I Okay?,” co-directed by Moroney and Alexandra Gavillet and conceived by the country star. Cementing her status as a multidimensional creative force with no limit to her vision, “Am I Okay?” delivers more of the can’t-look-away storytelling and captivating visuals Moroney previously brought to the videos for her triple-platinum No. 1 hit “Tennessee Orange” and platinum-certified “I’m Not Pretty” (now up for Music Video of the Year at the CMA Awards).
Widely recognized as one of the most in-demand young headliners in country music, Moroney will embark on the Am I Okay? Tour next March. As part of the massively anticipated North American headline run, she’ll perform for some of her biggest crowds, taking the stage at iconic venues like Radio City Music Hall in New York City, Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado, and the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles.
